Providing Water

Water Production & Distribution

As the water service provider for the City of Prescott and surrounding area, we serve more than water. We provide value, public health, reliability, and peace of mind. Our job is to ensure that the safe supply of water keeps flowing not only today, but well into the future. It’s all part of our service commitment to the community.

We are comprised of two main areas Water Production & Water Distribution. Together these Divisions ensure water availability consistent with current and future customer needs through long-term resource supply and demand. We evaluate operational resiliency under emergency conditions and maintain infrastructure stability through maintenance management programs.

Water Production

Water Production produces, treats and stores our ground water supply. Also, maintains, installs, and collects reads for water meters for monthly billing.

Water quality testing ensures a reliable supply of safe high quality water is delivered to customers, meeting or exceeding regulatory requirements.

Water Meter Change Out Program

The City of Prescott has partnered with Badger Meter, Inc. and Metering Services, Inc. to perform a city wide, water meter replacement project, scheduled to be completed by the end of 2029.

The new Badger water meter leverages existing cellular networks through an attached endpoint that collects meter reads every 15 minutes. This new technology stores information in a program called EyeOnWater®, that allows you, the customer, to access your meter information, including usage and current reads. These proactive tools can help prevent unwanted water waste, giving you the ability to set up leak alerts prior to your monthly billing as the City will not be actively tracking increased water consumption.

EyeOnWater® is a free, customer portal that can be viewed from your smart phone, tablet, and/or any computer. To learn about these features and how to set up an account, scan the QR code provided below with your smart phone or tablet, or from any computer, enter the following web address: www.helpeyeonwater.com.

Metering Services, Inc., an industry expert committed to delivering courteous and professional service, has been contracted to carry out the installation of the new meters.  The installers will carry identification and will be driving marked vehicles. During the water meter replacement, your water service will be temporarily interrupted while the existing water meter is removed, and the new meter installed. Promptly upon the installation completion, your water service will be restored.

You’ll know your meter has been replaced when you receive a door hanger with additional EyeOnWater® login information.  After your new meter is installed, please wait approximately five (5) days before creating an account.

Please note that as a valued City of Prescott Water Customer, the scheduled meter replacement is mandatory. Because this project is funded through the Water User Rates Fund, you will not be charged for this work.

For more information about this water meter replacement project, please contact Water Operations by phone: (928) 777-1118, or email: water.operations@prescott-az.gov.
