Special Events

Apply for your Special Event Permit

Per City Code 8-9 the City of Prescott welcomes a wide variety of special events. From car shows to music festivals, and craft fairs to mountain bike events, there is always something to see in Prescott!

The City partners with Prescott Unified School District for use of the field at Prescott Mile High Middle School and we work closely with Yavapai County for events in the Kuebler /Brownlow Trail event area, as well as on the Yavapai County Courthouse Plaza.

*Please note that use of the Yavapai County Courthouse Plaza is governed by Yavapai County. For inquiries, please contact their Public Information Officer at 928-442-5509.

Special Event Application Process

All events are required to submit a special events application no later than sixty (60) days prior to the start date of the event. All event applications are reviewed by a committee to ensure safety and success.

Step One

Find the location you’d like to reserve and choose the first date of your event in our reservation system. You will be asked for your Event Criteria. It is there you can annotate all dates and times for your upcoming event. SUBMITTING THIS FORM DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOUR EVENT.

NOTE: Every event will need its own request form. If you have multiple dates/events you are requesting, you will have to submit one, check out and then enter a new one. If you try to do multiple in the same transaction, you will be timed out and have to start over.

Step Two

Once your reservation is received and your event request has been granted, you will receive an email invoice for your event application fee and deposit. You will also be sent an email with appropriate applications and forms need for your event.

Find the application and additional forms in the section below to fill out. Submit them to Rec Services to complete your reservation.

Special Events Forms & Applications Breakdown

All special events are now required to go through the City of Prescott Permit Center. Emailed or printed applications will no longer be accepted. All supplemental applications will need to be uploaded through that process.

Public Safety

The City of Prescott is committed to ensuring all events are successful and safe. The following applications are required for all events.

Liquor License

Application must be submitted to City of Prescott for approval, prior to sending it to the State. Please submit a check made payable to City of Prescott for $84 per day, along with a check for Arizona State Dept. of Liquor for $25 per day.

Solid Waste Request

If you will be requesting City Solid Waste (Trash) service, please fill out the attached form.

Street and Parking Closure Request

If your event is closing a street, requesting more than three (3) parking stall closures you will need to submit the following forms. Any street or parking closure with require business approval from all businesses affected and at least a 75% approval. Please note that a Traffic Control plan will need to be submitted by a licensed and bonded Traffic Control Company.

Requests for the use of Mile High Middle School Field

For events being requested for Prescott Mile High Middle School, all requests will be submitted to the PUSD Governing Board for approval.

Camping Request Form (Watson Lake Only)

If your event is being held at Watson Lake and you would like to request camping please submit the application.

Vendor Tracking Sheet

This form must be submitted at least ten (10) days prior to your event and should show ALL vendors (Merchandise and Food) that will be at your event.

Gurley St Banner Request

If you would like to have an event banner displayed across Gurley St., space is limited to one (1) week, but no more than two (2) weeks per event, pending availability. A separate application is needed for each event.

A & B Sign Company has the contract for hanging the banners. Event Coordinator will need to contact them at 928-445-6995 or sales@absignco.com for banner creation.

Health Department

Event organizer must fill out the Coordinator packet if your event will have food.

For events being requested for the Kuebler Quarry Area, requests will also need to be made to Yavapai County.

Entries are asked to be lined up in the staging area by 9:30 a.m. Entries will be judged during the parade. Please note that parade participants must furnish their own float or conveyance. The parade will circle the parade route one time. There are six categories with a first-place trophy for each category, with the Best over all award.

The categories are:
1. Non-Profit Organizations
2. Fraternal Organizations or Military Organization
3. Motorized Groups
4. Music
5. Marching Units
6. Hospital entries for veterans
7. Commercial / Business
8. Best Overall

The community is invited to participate and attend the parade.
