Special Events

Per City Code 8-9 the City of Prescott welcomes a wide variety of special events. If you would like to hold a special event within the City of Prescott, please read the Policy and Procedures Manual then print and fill out the Special Events Criteria Form below. Once your date is approved a special event application will be sent to you with all coordinating forms needed for your event. All Special Events are subject to approval by the Special Events Committee. If you have questions please call Michelle Stacy-Schroeder at (928)777-1552.

NEW PROCESS

Our process has gone electronic. If you would like to request to hold a special event, please go to Reservation Request  and create a profile. You will then proceed to Reservation Requests under the facilities tab, followed by Reservation Request- Special Event. Please click on the first date of your event and click the green reserve button. You will only need to reserve one date for a multi day event (to include set-up dates). Once you get to check out you will be asked to fill out the Criteria Flex Form with complete information and submit. Once it has been submitted and approved you will be sent an email to proceed with applications and an invoice for your deposit. NOTE: Submitting this request is NOT the application

  • Tax and Licensing: List of vendors selling items must be submitted 10 days prior to an event. Vendor Tracking Sheet 
  • Liquor License: Application must be submitted to City of Prescott for approval, prior to sending it to the State. Please submit a check made payable to City of Prescott for $70 per day, along with a check for Arizona State Dept. of Liquor for $25 per day Click Here
  • Health Department: Event organizer must fill out the Coordinator packet if your event will have food Click Here
  • Requests for the use of Mile High Middle School Field: Event organizer must fill out a usage form Here
  • Business Signature form: If your event s closing a street, all businesses on said street must provide a Yes/No and a signature. You must receive 75% approval from all businesses Business Signature form
  • Camping Request Form (Watson Lake Only): If your event is being held at Watson Lake and you would like to request camping click here

Event Spotlight

2021 Veterans Day parade

The 2021 Veterans Day Parade will be held in Downtown Prescott on Thursday, November 11, 2021. Opening ceremonies will take place at 10:30am on the stage at the intersection of Cortez St. and Union St., with parade beginning at 11:00am.

2021 Parade Application

This year’s parade theme is:  Honoring World War II Veterans- A Grateful Nation Salutes the Greatest Generation. The City of Prescott is inviting parade entrants from the community to compete in seven categories this year.  Each entry category will have a first palace winner and all entries will compete for a Best overall award.   The categories are:

 

  • Fraternal or Military Organizations
  • Motorized Groups
  • Music
  • Marching Units
  • Hospital entries by Veterans
  • Non-Profit Organizations
  • Commercial / Business

In addition to Parade entries, the City is also looking for World War II Veterans to serve as Parade Grand Marshalls. Those interested should contact Michelle Stacy-Schroeder at the Recreation Services Office by calling 928-777-1552 or emailing at michelle.stacy-schroeder@prescott-az.gov . Please provide a brief bio to include the Veterans name, branch of service, rank, job title and significant medals awarded.

 

There is no fee to enter, and application forms and rules can be found on the Recreation Services section of the City website, under the Programs and Special Events tab, or entering this link in your web browser: http://www.prescott-az.gov/recreation-events/programs-special-events/special-events/

Individuals, businesses and groups interested in participating in the parade are asked to return your entry form no later than October 22, 2021, to assure proper staging and information prior to the event.  Please direct questions or completed applications to Michelle Stacy-Schroeder, Recreation Services Manager, at (928) 777-1552.

FAQ

  • To be a vendor at an event, you will need to contact the event organizer directly. Information can be found in the City events calendar.

  • The Recreation Services department works closely with the Prescott Unified School District and the Mile High Middle School Staff for scheduling. Please call Michelle Stacy-Schroeder at 928-777- 1552.

  • Reservations for the Yavapai County Courthouse are handled by the Prescott Downtown Partnership 928-445- 5220.
