Chief Debora Black

Chief Debora Black joined the Prescott Police Department in July of 2016, bringing with her more than 36 years of professional law enforcement experience.

Prior to joining the Prescott Police Department, Chief Black served as Chief of Police for the City of Glendale for four years, preceded by five and half years as their Assistant Chief. Previously she worked for the Phoenix Police Department where she began her career in 1980 as a patrol officer and worked her way through the ranks ultimately being promoted to Assistant Police Chief in 2000. During her career, Chief Black was awarded the Medal of Valor, three Medals of Lifesaving and two Police Chief’s Unit Awards.

Chief Black is an Executive Fellow for the Police Foundation, dedicated to enhancing policing through innovation and science. She serves on the Board of Directors of Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Arizona and is Past President of the West Valley Chief’s Association; she remains active in and supports a variety of local charitable organizations. The YWCA honored her as the Public Service Leader of the Year in 2008.

Chief Black earned a Master of Public Administration and Bachelor of Science from Arizona State University. She attended the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government Senior Executives in State and Local Government and has earned a Certificate in Legal Studies at Phoenix College.

Deputy Chief Amy Bonney

Deputy Chief Amy Bonney began her career with the Prescott Police Department in 1998. She served as a Patrol Officer and worked her way through the ranks until her promotion to Deputy Chief in 2016. During her career, Deputy Chief Bonney was awarded the Medal of Valor, and several other departmental and City awards.

Deputy Chief Bonney is an experience public safety instructor and develops and instructs leadership development courses through Arizona Peace Officers Standards and Training throughout the State of Arizona.

Deputy Chief Bonney is a proud member of the Prescott Kiwanis Club and serves on the Board of Directors. She is active in several other community organizations such as the Trauma Intervention Program of Prescott, and the FBI National Academy Associates Youth Leadership Program and the Arizona Leadership and Development Program.

Deputy Chief Bonney holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Northern Arizona University and graduated with the 257th session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
