Special Events

Per City Code 8-9 the City of Prescott welcomes a wide variety of special events. If you would like to hold a special event within the City of Prescott, please read the Policy and Procedures Manual then print and fill out the Special Events Criteria Form below. Once your date is approved a special event application will be sent to you with all coordinating forms needed for your event. All Special Events are subject to approval by the Special Events Committee. If you have questions please call Michelle Stacy-Schroeder at (928)777-1552.

Drive-In Theme
July 4th | Watson Lake | 5pm-9:30pm

Parking Fee: $10 per vehicle

Gates will open at 5 p.m. for drive-in parking

Parking at Watson is first come, first served.

Parking on Hwy 89 is first come, first serve and will be starting at 7 p.m.

All vehicles coming to the event (lake parking or highway parking) will need to enter at the Willow Lake Road/ Highway 89 roundabout.

Vehicles must remain occupied.

There will not be any shuttle service this year

State Route 89 will be closed between the Willow Lake Road roundabout, and Prescott Lakes Parkway, starting at 6 p.m., until following the fireworks show.

Watson Lake will be open for day use (fishing, kayaking, etc) on Saturday, July 4 until 3 p.m.

There will be a limited number of food vendors, but spectators are allowed to bring outside food and beverage

Restrictions: No canopies, no grills (of any kind)

  • To be a vendor at an event, you will need to contact the event organizer directly. Information can be found in the City events calendar.

  • The Recreation Services department works closely with the Prescott Unified School District and the Mile High Middle School Staff for scheduling. Please call Michelle Stacy-Schroeder at 928-777- 1552.

  • Reservations for the Yavapai County Courthouse are handled by the Prescott Downtown Partnership 928-445- 5220.
