Summit, McCormick, Beach, and Goodwin Pavement and Utility Upgrade Project

Community Open House Meeting, Thursday, September 5, 2019

The City of Prescott invites you to attend a community open house meeting for the Summit, McCormick, Beach, and Goodwin Pavement and Utility Upgrade Project. The meeting will be held on Thursday, September 5 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the West Gallery of Sharlot Hall Museum, 415 West Gurley Street. The open house will provide an opportunity for community members to meet the project team, ask questions, and learn more about the upcoming construction activities.

The project, which is scheduled to begin the week of September 16, 2019, consists of the replacement of various water lines, sewer lines, and storm drain pipe. Additional improvements include the installation of new catch basins, driveway entrances, sidewalk, curb and gutter, and asphalt reconstruction.

Work will occur along South Summit Avenue from West Gurley Street to just south of West Goodwin Street, Beach Avenue from South Summit Avenue to South McCormick Street, West Goodwin Street from South Summit Avenue to just east of South McCormick Avenue, and South McCormick Street from West Gurley Street to West Goodwin Street. Construction activities will take place Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. To minimize conflicts with construction equipment, and expedite completion of the project, the City asks that you avoid on-street parking while construction is underway, personnel will work with businesses and residents to maintain driveway access throughout the work zones. Please be aware of lane restrictions, reduced speeds, rough road conditions, and flagging operations throughout the work zones. The project is scheduled to be complete in summer 2020.
