CITY OF PRESCOTT STATEMENT REGARDING THE STATUS OF ARIZONA ECO DEVELOPMENT’S ANNEXATION APPLICATION

On August 3, 2018, Arizona Eco Development (AED) submitted a proposal for a sizable land annexation into the City of Prescott. This annexation proposal called for extensive development in the Granite Dells and along the Peavine and Iron King Trails. Understanding the ecological and historical importance of the Granite Dells, the Mayor and City Council directed the City Manager to work with AED on enhancing the public’s access to and ownership of the core of the Granite Dells. Substantial progress has been made; however, at present, there is a divergence between what the City and AED consider acceptable.  At this juncture, AED will go through the public vetting process with a revised proposal, which will be reviewed at multiple Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council meetings.   As of the time of this statement release, the revised proposal has yet to be delivered to the City.
