Winter Storm Update Morning January 20, 2023

Good morning all,

At this time all main arterial roads are passable, although snow packed and icy. Please drive only if you must, and if you must, please do so with extreme caution. Allow for plenty of extra drive time to arrive safely at your destination. Leave at least six car lengths between you and the vehicles ahead of you, and approach intersections slowly, and brake gently.

Steet Maintenance crews are currently working to clear collector streets and are continuing to treat mains with cinders and deicing material as needed. Current NWS forecasts are indicating skies clearing gradually throughout the day with temperatures reaching int the low 40’s. This will help to improve road conditions. Street Maintenance crews will continue working to clear all City streets, and should begin working their way into local residential streets by mid-day or sooner if possible.

Again, Please keep in mind that streets will be snow packed and icy at least through mid-day. Plow trucks will return to arterial streets periodically to treat icy spots. As a reminder, please do not attempt to pass a plow when it is actively plowing and/or applying cinders to the roadway. This is for you safety, as well as the operators.

Street Maintenance, again thanks all of our residents and visitors for their continued cooperation as we work to keep the streets of Prescott clear, passable and safe.

Brian Scott, Street Maintenance Superintendent
