Winter Storm Update Afternoon January 17, 2023

Good afternoon all,

At this time Street Maintenance crews are working to, again clear minor collector and local residential streets, as another round of heavy snowfall rolled through the City late this morning. Please keep in mind that temperatures are dropping quickly and we anticipate streets to become icy in those areas that remain wet and/or still have some snow left on them. This will create hazardous driving conditions. Please travel only if you must.

The most recent forecasts still indicate snow showers through the late evening hours, and possibly into tomorrow morning. This coupled with low temperatures in the low to mid 20’s will again make the morning commute slick and somewhat hazardous. Please allow for extra time during you morning drive to work or school.

Street Maintenance crews will continue with clearing operations throughout the evening, as well as treat icy spots City wide. We will again have a crew report for duty in the early morning hours to treat icy areas ahead of the morning commute.

We would like to once again thank you for your continued cooperation and patience as we work to keep the streets safe and passable during these winter storm events.

Brian Scott, Street Maintenance Superintendent
