Winter Storm Update 12/12/22

Good morning all,

Street Maintenance currently has a full plow crew dispatched throughout the City working to clear all the main arterial and major collector streets. As soon as that work has been completed, they will begin working to clear the minor collectors and local residential streets.

Skies are, at this time, clearing, however please keep in mind that this will bring temperatures down quite rapidly and roadways will become icy as a result. This will make for continued travel hazards, so please drive with extreme caution throughout the morning hours.

Forecasts are currently calling for partly sunny skies for the better part of the day, with a 30% chance of snow returning later this evening through around 2:00 a.m. with as much as 2 inches of accumulation possible.

With that in mind, please be aware that hazardous winter drive conditions will likely prevail through Tuesday. Please leave plenty of time to arrive safely to your destinations, keep extra distance between you and the vehicles ahead of you, extra braking distance when approaching intersections and as always give our plow operators the room they need to operate safely. This helps keep them and you safe, “Don’t Crowd the Plows”.

Street Maintenance would like thank you for your continued cooperation and patience during this and all winter storm events, and please be safe out there.

Brian Scott, Street Maintenance Superintendent
