Winter Storm Forecast December 28, 2022

Good morning all,

A series of storms are forecast to impact the Prescott, and surrounding area through the new year and beyond.

At this time there is low to moderate confidence in both snow levels and accumulations on the part of the National Weather service. That said, it does not look like these storms are going to be large snow makers.

Street Maintenance will none the less, be prepared for whatever these storms produce. Please keep a close eye on the weather forecasts, as they tend to change quickly during these types of storms.

Remember, it is always best to be prepared for the worst case, so be sure to stock up on medications, food, water and heating sources just in case. Travel could become a bit hazardous as temperatures are predicted to dip just below the freezing point overnight tonight. This could make the morning commute a bit slippery. Please keep this in mind as you head out in the morning.

Street Maintenance will continue to monitor weather conditions, as well as forecasts and be prepared to respond accordingly, and will update here daily throughout this series of storms.

As always, we thank you for your cooperation and PLEASE DRIVE SAFELY.

Brian Scott, Street Maintenance Superintendent.
