Upper Levels of Granite Street Parking Garage Temporarily Closed for Repairs Oct 25 through Nov 5
The upper three levels of the Granite Street Garage will be closed to parking for ten days, from October 25 through November 5, 2015, to repair parking deck damage.
All vehicles must be removed from Levels Three, Four and Five in the garage before 11:30 p.m. Sunday, October 25. Repairs will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, October 26. Vehicles not removed will be towed at owners' expense.
"Repairs will be made to the damaged deck and bollard on the third floor caused by a vehicle," said City of Prescott Facilities Manager Mic Fenech. "It is necessary to close three floors, since the concrete deck repair must have at least seven days to cure, free of deflection that occurs when vehicles drive over the parking deck."
The city-owned garage, which has about 500 spaces, was opened in 2005. "Despite the closure, there will still be 210 parking spaces available to the public on floors one and two," added Fenech. "The garage also has an additional fifteen spaces on the first two floors that are privately licensed."
The City of Prescott will be advising patrons of the parking garage closure through signs and police barricades.
"The City apologizes for any inconvenience this necessary repair work will cause," stated Fenech. "Every effort is being made to minimize the downtime and updates will be posted on the City of Prescott website and by public notice as they occur. The City appreciates your cooperation and patience during the period of partial closure."
