U.S. Army Band to Perform Tonight on the Courthouse Plaza

As part of the City of Prescott's Downtown Summer Concert Series, the U.S. Army Military Intelligence Corps Band from Fort Huachuca, AZ, will perform on the north side of the Courthouse Plaza, September 8, 2015, at 7:00 p.m.

The concert theme for the 40-member band will be "American Music, American Soldier," and will include music by American composers and songwriters, including John Philip Sousa, John Williams, Jerome Kern, the Gershwin Brothers, Oscar Hammerstein, and Walter Donaldson. Many of the arrangements were done by Nelson Riddle.

"We are performing this concert to honor our nation and all those who have served in her service," said Sergeant Michael Kiese, Public Affairs Officer for the U.S. Army Military Intelligence Corps Band. "This concert will be especially poignant for all the veterans in the community, and we look forward to honoring and acknowledging them during this event."

The City encourages residents to come early to find parking, and to bring their own comfortable folding chairs.
