Tourism Advisory Committee (TAC) and Prescott Area Arts and Humanities Council (PAAHC) Grant Awards Approved by Council

The Prescott City Council approved nearly $80,000 in grants for 26 local non-profit organizations, as part of the Tourism Advisory Committee (TAC) and Prescott Area Arts and Humanities Council (PAAHC) grant program.   The grant dollars are made available through the Transient Occupancy (Bed) Tax and the Prescott Tourism Office, to assist events with marketing, especially to encourage over-night visitation.

“This is really a win-win for Prescott and these non-profits,” said Mayor Pro Tem Billie Orr, council liaison to the Tourism Advisory Committee.  “Bed tax dollars are helping 26 community organizations, while at the same time, they are bringing visitors to stay in Prescott and support our local economy.”

Council approved a total expenditure of $79,442.84.  Awards ranged between $782 and $4,282.65.  TAC and PAAHC Grants are funded by the City’s Transient Occupancy (Bed Tax). Events were eligible for up to $5,000, depending on their rating, and how many organizations successfully apply.
