WHY: In cooperation with local jurisdictions and the Prescott National Forest, Stage I fire restrictions will be lifted on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 06:00 a.m. The restrictions were put in place on June 29, 2023, in several forests, Prescott, and the Prescott Basin areas. In conjunction with the Prescott National Forest fire managers and other local agencies, it has been determined that sufficient rain within the region has increased the fuel moisture levels and subsequently, decreased the fire danger.

The public should please remain vigilant with the use of fire for land management and recreations. For more information and links for local burn permits, Please visit our websites at or for further information.
