Junior Park Rangers
Junior Rangers help protect Prescott’s parks and open spaces by following the Appreciate AZ principles, and learning about Prescott’s ecology, culture, history, and open space opportunities. This Summer a free Junior Ranger Guidebook and City Passport will be available to download on this site or retrieve at the Prescott Visitors Center, Library, and Recreation Services. Take the Appreciate AZ pledge to protect Prescott and earn your own Junior Ranger Badge.
Welcome to Nature Niños! Bienvenido a Nature Niños!
Nature Niños is a free community program for families with children ages 0-8 in the Greater Prescott Area. There are two parts to the Nature Niños initiative:
Nature Niños es un programa comunitario gratis para familias con niños de 0 a 8 años en el área de Prescott. Hay dos partes de la iniciativa Nature Niños:
12 Trails in 12 Months
Park Rangers and community partners will lead child-centered play events at a different family friendly trail each month. At every Nature Niños event there will be take-home freebies, creative nature activities, storytime, a raffle, and little fun lessons on Leave No Trace and healthy snacks.
Nature Niños events are the first Saturday of each month from 10:00am – 12:00pm and are led by Park Rangers and community partner staff with a strong understanding of child development and experience leading child-centered outdoor programs.

12 Caminatas en 12 Meses
Los guardaparques dirigirán las caminatas para las familias. también hay eventos para toda la familia del programa Nature Niños. Por ejemplo actividades de la naturaleza, cuentos, una rifa, y lecciones divertidas.

Prescott Recreation Services Welcomes Every Body and Every Ability
In accordance with Federal civil rights law and state civil rights regulations and policies, the City of Prescott Recreation Services Department are prohibited from discriminating based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity (including gender expression), sexual orientation, disability, age, marital status, family/parental status, income derived from a public assistance program, political beliefs, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity, in any program or activity conducted or funded by the Recreation Department.
Persons with disabilities who require alternative means of communication for program information (e.g., Braille, large print, audiotape, American Sign Language, etc.) should contact the Recreation Services Department for accomodations. Additionally, program information may be made available in both Spanish and English.
