In the cold, wind and rain, Prescott's own Chloe Woodruff won the Whiskey Off-Road '50 Proof' pro women's mountain bike race on Sunday, April 27, earning her accolades in the racing world, along with the $5,000 grand prize. Her time was 3 hours, 47 minutes and 12 seconds, a good 13 seconds faster than runner-up Georgia Gould of Fort Collins, Colorado.
Chloe and her husband, fellow pro rider, T.J., moved to Prescott two years ago. T.J. finished in 23rd place in the Whiskey men's pro ride on Sunday, coming across the finish line in 3:25:23.
Chloe is a Colorado native, and a graduate of the University of Arizona. Her parents Kristin Lewis and Chuck Forsman were at the race cheering her on. Next up for Chloe: a week off then back to training for two World Cup races in Europe.
