Prescott Fire Department Accreditation Status Re-Confirmed
First Accreditation Earned in 2020
Recently, the City of Prescott Fire Department was confirmed as an accredited agency by the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI).
On Friday, March 18, 2022, members of the Prescott Fire Department met with a representative of CFAI, to review the department’s annual compliance report. The CFAI found that the Prescott Fire Department (PFD) remains in compliance with all core competencies and that it is making substantive progress on recommendations for improvement that were received during the initial site visit. The department originally received accredited status in 2020 and this finding confirms PFD’s commitment to continuous improvement.
“Congratulations to the Prescott Fire Department,” said Mayor Phil Goode. “This re- accreditation is a confirmation of their ongoing excellent service to our community.”
“I am very pleased with this news,” said new Fire Chief Holger Durre. “This re accreditation is a testament to the hard work and commitment of the men of women of the Prescott Fire Department.” The CFAI certification is part of The Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE), which is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation. CPSE helps high-performing fire departments and emergency services professionals in their efforts to continuously improve.
