Prescott City Council Approves Youth Advisory Board

The Prescott City Council has approved the Youth Advisory Board and encourages all eligible students to apply.

On October 23, 2018 the Prescott City Council approved the Youth Advisory Board (YAB). The purpose and mission of the YAB is to provide a coordinated effort and central body to act on issues related to youth in the Prescott community and to provide insight and feedback on issues relating to youth, including city ordinances, long range planning, and city-school district relations. The board seeks to enable youth to participate in improving the quality of life in the community.

The board consists of 7 members in grades 9-12 in good standing at the time of appointment who are either (1) residents of the City of Prescott or (2) enrolled in a school located within Prescott city limits. Initial term lengths will be 18 months beginning in January 2019. Because the first term will go until the end of May 2020, current freshman, sophomores, and juniors are encouraged to apply.

Participating on the board will be a prestigious opportunity for youth and will give them a voice that directly impacts the city. For more information and to apply by the November 30th deadline, please visit https://www.prescott-az.gov/board/youth-advisory-board/.
