Prescott Circle Trail Nearing Completion

The completion of the 52-mile Prescott Circle Trail is near, as workers and volunteers are filling in the trail near the Badger "P" Mountain area.

Recently, crews have been clearing away brush along the trail corridor, which has been followed by a five-ton trail dozer, digging the initial trail tread.

The new section of trail, which runs from Highway 69 to the Turley Trail, should be passable by the third week of May, and completed by mid-June. Access will be available at the Turley trailhead, located at 205 Wells Fargo Road in Government Canyon.

A detailed guide on the Circle Trail route is available through the Yavapai Trail Association. A new updated version is available for $10 at the Prescott Chamber of Commerce and the Highlands Center for Natural History, as well several local outdoors stores.
