Plow and Road Conditions Afternoon March 1, 2023

Good afternoon,

Road conditions remain virtually the same as they were in this morning’s update; all of the main arterial and major collectors are passable. We are beginning to see some accumulations on these streets, but as of yet no significant snowpack, or icy conditions. There is some light accumulations being reported on some of the local residential streets by our operators in the higher terrain.

The NWS is still forecasting snow accumulations in the 4-6 inch range with snowfall tapering off after 4:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. This will likely bring a rapid change in the road conditions. Please expect to encounter winter weather driving conditions through the night tonight, and during tomorrow’s morning commute. Leave plenty of extra drive time. There may be snowpack and ice present on streets city wide. Street Maintenance crews will remain on duty throughout this storm event to continue clearing snow and treating snowpack and icy streets.

Weather conditions are expected to improve rapidly after the noon hour tomorrow, with sunshine and warmer temperatures.

Thank you, and please be safe.

Brian Scott, Street Maintenance Superintendent
