Japanese Kimonos on Display at the Prescott Public Library
A colorful array of handmade silken Japanese kimonos and obis are exhibited this month in the Prescott Public Library Viewerie.
Dating back to the 8th century, kimonos have survived many transitions through the centuries. Falling in and out of cultural favor over time, this unique garment is gaining a resurgent popularity in Japan and elsewhere.
Fans and tiny modeling dolls are also part of this radiant display.
