Governor Doug Ducey in Prescott to Help Kick Off GPREP

Arizona's new governor, Doug Ducey, attended the first annual Greater Prescott Regional Economic Partnership (GPREP) meeting on January 23, at the invitation of Prescott Mayor Marlin Kuykendall.

GPREP is a new organization created to attract quality businesses, capital investment, and jobs to the Greater Prescott region. The membership includes all the local municipalities and Yavapai County, Yavapai Regional Medical Center, Yavapai College, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Arizona Public Service as well as representatives of the financial, real estate, hospitality, and land development sectors in the local economy.

"The Partnership is a focal point offering an array of services to businesses wishing to relocate in the area or expand," said Steve Rutherford, president of GPREP. "No other organization is more committed to regional prosperity than GPREP."

A meeting highlight was the announcement by American Spirit Arms, a leading US manufacturer of precision firearms, of their relocation to Prescott in March 2015.

"We are pleased that American Spirit Arms has chosen Prescott, a great place to live, work, and build a business," said Prescott Mayor Marlin Kuykendall. "Manufacturing expands our economic base, bringing new jobs and employment opportunities for our families."
