Debora Black Accepts Position of Chief of Police, City of Prescott
Debora Black, presently Chief of Police for the City of Glendale, Arizona, has accepted the position of Chief of Police for the City of Prescott, following a recruitment that attracted 31 applications from a national search.
Chief Black has more than 35 years of professional law enforcement experience with two Arizona police agencies. She has served as Police Chief for the City of Glendale for the past four years, preceded by 5.5 years as their Assistant Chief. Previously, she spent 25 years with the Phoenix Police Department, beginning as a recruit, and ascending to Sergeant, Lieutenant, Commander and Assistant Chief. Chief Black holds a master's degree in public administration, and bachelor's of science in justice studies, both from Arizona State University, and a paralegal certificate from Phoenix College.

"She will be valuable to the community not only as an accomplished leader with a strong command presence, but also as a mentor to all levels of the Prescott Police Department. Chief Black will begin work at the City of Prescott effective July 18, 2016, at an annual salary of $138,000.
