City of Prescott Thanks Trails Volunteers at BBQ
The City of Prescott Recreation Services Department held a BBQ at Goldwater Lake this week to say thanks to their volunteer groups dedicated to the restoration and preservation of the Prescott Trail System, including the “Over the Hill Gang” and Park Rangers.
Recreation Services Director Joe Baynes says the groups volunteered an estimated 6,400 hours on tasks including clearing brush, moving boulders and carving out new trails.
Baynes also credited the volunteers for the recently completed Prescott Circle Trail, a 54 mile trail encircling the City of Prescott, a collaborative effort by the Volunteers, the City, Prescott National Forest, AZ Game and Fish, Embry Riddle, Storm Ranch and Yavapai County.
