Arizona Department of Transportation’s Government Canyon Bridge Replacement Project Scheduled to Begin the Week of January 6, 2020
In conjunction with the City of Prescott, the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is set to begin a bridge replacement project the week of January 6, 2020. The project consists of removing the existing Government Canyon Bridge and constructing a new concrete bridge on Overland Road, between East Gurley Street and Cactus Drive. In addition to this work, the project includes the removal and replacement of asphaltic concrete pavement, guardrail installation, and striping work.
Work may occur Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Government Canyon Bridge will be closed to through traffic starting January 6, 2020. Please follow the marked detour signage to get to your destination.
Once complete, this project will replace and widen the aging Government Canyon Bridge. The project is scheduled to be complete in summer 2020.
