Good afternoon. Well that’s Arizona weather for you,
The National Weather Service, (NWS), is now forecasting yet another winter storm to impact the Prescott area over night tonight and through mid-day tomorrow.
The forecast is indicating snow accumulations of 1 inch or less, however there is the possibility 1-2 inches could make it’s way into the area by mi-day Monday. Temperatures are forecast to be lower with this system as well, with an overnight low of 21 tonight and a high of only 33 for Monday.
This will likely create hazardous driving conditions during tomorrow morning’s commute. Please keep this in mind during your commute to work or school, and allow plenty of extra time for the drive. Remember to keep at least six car length between you and the vehicles ahead of you, and use caution when approaching intersections leaving extra braking distance.
Street Maintenance has equipment and crews on stand-by, and is prepared to respond when needed to clear streets and treat for icy road conditions.
Thank you and please drive carefully.
Brian Scott, Street Maintenance Superintendent
