Approaching Winter Storm February 25, 2023

Good Saturday morning,

Well here comes another one. The next in this series of storms is forecast to begin impacting the area with rain showers around 6:00 p.m. this evening, followed by snow after 11:00p.m., and the area remains under a Winter Storm Warning through Sunday. Some of the snowfall will be heavy at times and total accumulations are currently forecast to be in the 3-4 inch  range, although locally heaver amounts are possible, particularly in the higher elevations.

As always we ask for you to be prepared for winter weather driving conditions and to expect snow covered and slick roads, low visibility due to blowing snow, and very difficult travel conditions as a result. If you don’t have to travel, it would be advised not to. This seems to be a very fast moving system, and is forecast to be past the area around mid-day Sunday.

Street Maintenance crews and equipment are on stand-by and ready to respond as the storm begins impacting the area.

Thank you and please be safe.

Brian Scott, Street Maintenance Superintendent
