This concert is an exploration into the work of two of the most beloved and lyrical composers in the history of classical music, Mozart and Schubert. In his Four Seasons of Buenos Aires, Astor Piazzolla paints an adventurous impression of the Argentinian Capital through a four-tango composition. Florence Price, the first female African American composer to have a composition performed by a major orchestra, crafted her First Symphony with inspiration from spiritual melodies, folk song and church music. A native of Minneapolis, Kenneth Broberg studied piano from age 6 through high school under Dr. Joseph Zins. He continued his studies with Nancy Weems at the University of Houston’s Moores School of Music, where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree. He is now a graduate student working with 2001 Cliburn gold medalist Stanislav Ioudenitch at Park University in Parkville, Missouri.
