Prescott is becoming a "Program City"

The City of Prescott is currently transitioning to centralized tax collection with the Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR).

Effective January 1, 2017: Beginning with your January 2017 TPT return filed in February 2017, the Arizona Department of Revenue will be the single point of administration and collection of state, county and municipal transaction privilege tax. Taxpayers will be able to file and pay for all jurisdictions to the department. This means your last return to the City of Prescott will be your December 2016 return filed in January 2017.

We strongly encourage taxpayers to file online via for faster processing and fewer errors.

City of Prescott TPT License Applications:

Effective September 2016: Although the official transition has not occurred for all taxpayers, all new City license applications will be processed through ADOR at This means that new taxpayers will register and remit the City of Prescott's Transaction Privilege Tax to ADOR.

TPT License Renewals:

The Department of Revenue will process all TPT license renewals for all jurisdictions this fall. Businesses will receive one renewal notice per license from the department regardless of where the business is located. Look for more information at and your renewal notice in November/December.
