Overnight closure of State Route 89 in Prescott in place Sept. 24-28

Drivers should allow extra travel time and consider an alternate route
The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers who use State Route 89 in Prescott to plan for overnight road closures while contractors are paving the roadway.

  • SR 89 will be closed in both directions from Deep Well Ranch Road to State Route 89A from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Tuesday through Saturday nights, beginning Tuesday, Sept. 24, and continuing through the early morning hours of Saturday, Sept. 28. Detour:  Drivers can use Deep Well Ranch Road to access north- and southbound SR 89.  All truck traffic will be diverted to Willow Creek Road.
  • Law enforcement will be in place directing traffic. ADOT will limit access to local traffic only, but delays are possible.

Drivers are asked to obey traffic control devices and use caution around construction personnel and equipment.
