Bashford Courts Alley & Willis Street and Cortez Street Reconstruction Project Reaches Milestone

The City of Prescott is pleased to announce that a significant milestone has been reached in the Bashford Courts Alley & Willis Street and Cortez Street Reconstruction Project. Beginning on Sunday, April 22, crews will begin installing concrete crosswalks, access ramps, driveway entrances and final asphalt paving at the intersection of Willis Street and Cortez Street. Starting at 6 p.m. Sunday night, the intersection of Willis Street and Cortez Street will be closed to through traffic. Motorists are asked to follow marked detour signage, respect the work zone, and take precaution when near construction personnel and equipment. Access to Local Businesses will remain OPEN during this time period. The intersection is scheduled to be reopened by 6 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Once concrete installation is complete, crews will begin asphalt paving operations along Willis Street, from the Willis Street and Cortez Street intersection to Montezuma Street. To minimize the impact to the traveling public, the paving portion of the work will be performed Wednesday to Friday nights, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
