You're Invited to be Part of History - The Prescott 150th Birthday Community Photo

Wednesday, April 02, 2014

As part of the celebration of Prescott's 150th birthday Sesquicentennial, the City of Prescott is sponsoring the first ever "Community Photo" to commemorate our rich history and create a lasting memory of this special occasion.

The entire community is invited to participate and be part of this historic event on Saturday, April 19th in front of the east steps of the Yavapai County Courthouse along Cortez Street. Everyone should arrive no later than 2:30 p.m. to ensure ample time to set up the arrangement so the photo can be taken at 3:00 p.m. when the lighting is optimal.

The photo will be taken by award-winning photographer Bruce Roscoe of Aiyana Studio. Bruce will be hoisted up in a bucket truck above the crowd to make sure everyone is included in the photo.

Schools, churches, civic organizations, businesses, historical reenactors, and military service organizations are all encouraged to turn out and take on the challenge for the largest representation in the photo. Everyone should dress in attire that reflects the spirit of Prescott and our rich history that is being celebrated. No signs will be permitted to ensure no one is obstructed from being in the photo.

There will be 16" x 20" posters of the commerative photo available to purchase for $10 starting May 16th at the City of Prescott Utility Billing Department at 201 S. Cortez St and the Prescott Chamber of Commerce located at 117 W. Goodwin St.
