On the agenda: Prescott city council meeting July 24, 2012

The Prescott city council will conduct series of five meetings, including two executive sessions beginning Tuesday, July 23 at 8:45 a.m. All meetings will be held in City Hall at 201 S. Cortez St.

The first meeting at 8:45 a.m. will be a closed-door executive session in the lower level conference room. On the special meeting agenda is a discussion/consideration of employment and salary for candidates for the position of City Clerk.

The council will conduct a second executive session at 1:30 p.m., to discuss the Elks Opera House request for proposals (RFP).

At the 3 p.m. regular voting meeting the regular agenda items will be preceded by a Proclamation for the 29th Annual National Night Out program. The proclamation will be accepted by Prescott PD crime prevention specialist, Traces Gordon. The lone presentation will be given by Helen Stephenson, director of the Prescott Film Festival event which opens next week.

On the regular agenda is an action to ratify the adoption of a Campaign Sign-Free Zones with the emergency clause. And, Deputy City Manager Alison Zelms will give a presentation on House Bill 2643 which requires a supplemental benefit plan for public safety personnel retirement system employees. Council will discuss the item and provide direction.

Following the regular voting meeting, council will conduct two meetings sitting as the board for the Hassayampa Community Facilities Districts 1 and 2. The meeting will include a public hearing for the fiscal year 2013 budget and adoption of a new budget.
