Get Involved

centennial logoThere are several ways for community members to support the Centennial besides mounting projects and enjoying activities. Check these out and see how you might like to participate.

To volunteer to get involved in Centennial planning or to learn more, e-mail your interests to us.

What can you do?

You have the opportunity to encourage organizations you are affiliated with to mount a project to help community members become aware of the group's mission, activities, contributions to the community, etc., and to encourage support for it's endeavors through appreciation, attendance, donations, membership, volunteerism, and the like.

For statewide recognition and promotion you can plan projects that meet the following criteria:

  • Legacy Projects- Educational, historically significant, and will endure beyond the celebration. Erect a monument, plant a tree or a garden, publish a book, fix up a trail, found a group.... you decide! For more information go to the Arizona Centennial Events Website.
  • Official Centennial Events- attract sizable audiences or participants, and relate to history, cultural interests, contributions, etc. These can be performances, demonstrations, festivals, re-enactments, rides, parades, conferences, fairs, or other large events. For more information go to the Arizona Centennial Events Website.
  • Local project of all kinds that take place within the City or are put on by organizations located in Prescott will receive support from the Prescott Centennial Committee. Although funding is not available, the Committee will support your activity through project guidance, venue suggestions, scheduling, referral to volunteer assistance, promotional activities, and the like. Local projects located in the County will be assisted by the County Centennial Committee. For more information go to the Yavapai County Centennial Website.
