In celebration of Prescott's sesquicentennial celebration, listen to heartfelt music and stories by this great duo: Ghosts of the American Road, on Friday, May 9 at 3 p.m. in the Founders Suite. Playing Americana and contemporary folk music, they are a nationally touring husband-and-wife duo who have performed in venues across the U.S. and Canada, in the style of the band Civil Wars. Kevin Higgins' beautiful lyrics and melodies are influenced by some of the great American songwriters of our time, (Jimmy Webb, Carole King, Paul Simon, Jackson Browne, Bruce Springsteen). Based in Hondo, Texas, and with seven Texas Music Awards between them; three awards for "Song of the Year", two awards for "Female Vocalist" and one award for "Duo of the Year", it is indeed true that "Seeing is believing..." For more information on this duo, see their website at www.ghostsoftheamericanroad.com. Presented with funding from the Friends of the Prescott Public Library.
