Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Day

Sunday, March 30, 2014 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. â€“ The City of Prescott, Town of Dewey-Humboldt, and Yavapai County are partnering to hold a Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Day.
This service is available to City of Prescott residential solid waste customers, and residents of the Town of Dewey-Humboldt and of unincorporated Yavapai County areas.
Proof of residency will be required; please bring a driverâ€™s license or utility bill.
The following items will be accepted: acids, antifreeze, appliances, batteries, car batteries, cleaners, electronics, fluorescents, Freon, fuel tanks, paint, paint remover, paint thinner, pesticides, smoke detectors, tires and used oil.
Prescription and over-the-counter drugs will also be accepted. Remove pills/capsules/tablets from their containers and put them into a ziplock bag. Liquids, salves, ointments, and aerosols can stay in their original container. Be sure the cap is tight and then place them in a ziplock bag. The following items will not be accepted: Ammunition, asbestos, commercial (business) waste, commercial vehicle tires (tractors, tractor trailer, and heavy equipment), explosives, fireworks, home-generated medical waste, household garbage, items in plastic trash bags, radioactive waste, or any other material or items not included as â€śacceptableâ€ť from list above.
