2013-2014 PAS SEASON OPENING MEETING September 26, 2013 @ 7:00 PM
Viva La Verde! Dr. Gary Beverly Chairman, Yavapai Group Sierra Club
Viva La Verde! unveils the value of and the threats to the upper Verde River, a little-known and under-appreciated river supporting some of the best surviving riparian habitat in the Southwest.
The 48 minute video, produced by Hugh Denno and Gary Beverly, tells the story of the river through interviews with local river activists using photography and video footage collected over three years of exploring the river. Watch Viva La Verde Trailer.
Hugh Denno is a graduate of Prescott College; the film was his Senior Project.
Gary Beverly, a 40 year neighbor of the river and Chair of the local Sierra Club group, works to protect the river by seeking congressional designation of the Upper Verde Wild and Scenic River, by advocating for responsible water resource management, and by alerting the public to the future plight of our river.
This is the new update version of Viv La Verde and is guaranteed to impress, entertain and inform you of the challenges facing the Verde!
