Arizona History Adventure: Too Hot to Cook Indoors
Saturday, August 10, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Sharlot Hall Museum, 415 W. Gurley St., Prescott
Imagine wearing petticoats, slips, camisoles, tight floor length dresses, socks, boots and an apron while cooking before a hot stove with no air conditioning! The heat could indeed be stifling during August, the hottest month in Arizona. Come and see how pioneer women resorted to cooking outdoors to escape the stifling heat, just as they did when moving West. This program is sponsored in part by the Arizona Humanities Council and is included with your admission to the Museum.
