Thursday, July 11, 2013 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
ELKS THEATER 117 GURLEY, PRESCOTT, AZ 86301
In the spirit of the World’s Oldest Rodeo’s 126th Annual Rodeo and celebration of “all things Cowboy”, July’s Prescott Opry will present the best of old “Cowboy” and “Western” music. A deviation from our usual format, Emcee and Nashville recording artist, Ed Gary, has invited two GREAT groups to perform for you! He has also invited Arizona Historian Melissa Ruffner to share with you a bit of history about the Arizona Rangers, who will be our special guests at this performance.
THE PING BROTHERS Our first set will feature Kentucky natives and long time Prescott residents Doug & Frank Ping, along with the dynamic talents of Creighton Miller and John File who have formed THE PING BROTHERS BAND. All four performers are superior instrumentalists in their own right. But, in combination, their blended harmonies and terrific “pickin” will surprise and delight our audience with such classics as Carolina in the Pines, Wagon Wheel and 14 Carat Mind, just to name a few.
OK CHORALE Our second set will feature the OK Chorale, dedicated to the Preservation of Harmonic Law and Order, they will transport you to the exciting days of the old west with songs by such great artists as Marty Robbins, Gene Autry, Rex Allen and the Sons of the Pioneers, all blended together with authentic and interesting stories about our great state and its many characters.
Come and enjoy the special talents of Yodel’n Al Fossenkemper, Jingl’n Jud Schandel and Tumbleweed Tony Pistilli as they bring their special brand of harmony and comedy back to Prescott as they perform such Cowboy Favorites as Ghost Riders in the Sky, Cattle Call and the Legend of OK Corral, among their many offerings for your enjoyment.
Come for an entire evening of entertainment that’s intended to extend your July 4th Celebration!
