Help Feed a Hungry Neighbor...
On Saturday, April 27, at Yavapai College traffic circle (near the library and administration offices), cans of food will be collected for the hungry, culminating in the Mountain of Food event that same day, where all of the cans collected over the past two months are put together into a visual mountain of food at the campus.
During March and April, Open Door, a Yavapai County poverty-relief nonprofit, collected cans of food and monetary donations for the annual Feinstein Challenge, where the donations are percentage-matched by the Feinstein Foundation. This culminates in Open Door's continuing food collection plus Mountain of Food event at Yavapai College on April 27, between 9am to 4pm.
In 2012 Open Door provided the following food assistance services: 32,296 hot meals 46,260 sandwiches to go 17,512 pantry food bags 4,372 government commodity food boxes 14,000 Weekend Family Food Bags Open bread and produce shelves
Your donation helps make these vital services possible. Please donate today or bring your cans of food donations to Yavapai College on April 27, between 9 and 4.
