Sharlot Hall Museum Library & Archives, 115 S. McCormick St.
A new book explores Yavapai County's intriguing and historic cemeteries. "Cemeteries of Yavapai County", written by local author Parker Anderson, offers over 200 compelling photographs and stories of pioneer cemeteries both past and present.
Yavapai County is regarded as the most historically significant area within the state of Arizona. The county's history and culture is reflected in the simpl but deeply reverent burial grounds in the region where many of Arizona's early pioneers are buried. From Prescott to ghost towns, from graveyard "residents" Sharlot M. Hall to Big Nose Kate, Anderson examines the Old West's attitudes towards death and burial and profiles some of Arizona's most interesting characters.
