Corsair Avenue Extension Project

Scheduled to Begin the Week of April 20, 2020

The City of Prescott is scheduled to begin a roadway extension project the week of April 20, 2020. The project consists of constructing a new roadway connection between the existing southern terminus of Corsair Avenue to an intersection with Wilkinson Drive. The intersection of Wilkinson Drive and Corsair Avenue will feature a single lane roundabout to accommodate for peak traffic flows. The new extension of Corsair Avenue will include two paved travel lanes complete with a paved center median and new curb and gutter. Additional work includes both drainage and utility improvements.

Work may occur Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. To minimize the impact to the traveling public, work may be performed at night throughout the project. Please be aware of lane restrictions, reduced speeds, rough road conditions, and flagging operations throughout the work zones. To minimize the impact to Airport Business Park traffic, the contractor will complete construction of the new Corsair Avenue extension through the base course of asphalt pavement with minimal disturbance to Wilkinson Drive. Once that work is complete, Corsair Avenue will become the main northbound route to access the Airport Business Park as improvements continue on Wilkinson Drive. Southbound traffic along Wilkinson Drive shall be maintained at all times throughout construction.

Once complete, this project will improve access and circulation within the Airport Business Park, upgrade the utilities that serve the Prescott community, and enhance the drainage capabilities in the vicinity. The project is scheduled to be complete in fall 2020.
